I am the main organiser of the research seminar series of the School of Social and Political Sciences. These bi-weekly research seminars which are open to both staff, students and the public features research projects of academic staff and postgraduate students in anthropology, sociology, political science, media and communications.

The John Goodwin Tower Center for Political Studies located in the campus of Southern Methodist University is the major university-based public policy and international political studies research centre in Dallas, Texas, USA. My appointment as a senior fellow recognises my contribution to research in international relations of East Asia and in particular on Taiwan-China issues.

    Member of research team on Asian conflicts and political economy (2005-2007). I have been involved in on-going research projects on the topic with Dr. Shale Horowitz and Dr. Uk Heo, both of University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee, USA. Our most recent collaboration resulted in a book contract from Palgrave-Macmillan for an edited book on Conflict in Asia: China-Taiwan and the Koreas.

I have been involved in on-going research with Dr. Karl Ho (University of Texas-Dallas), Dr. Tim Li-Khan Chen (Soochow University, Taiwan) and Dr. Tsung-Chi Yu (Fu Hsing Kang College) examining various aspects of Taiwanese political partisanship studies. This collaboration has resulted in numerous conference research papers.
