RESEARCH INTERESTS

Holistically, Brad's key areas of reasearch interest are facilitating deeper understanding of the human body; science communication; scientific language and skill acquisition; as well as increased access to and equity within health systems through deepened understanding of the language of medicine and the human body. Brad also has a keen interest in exploring the impact of misinformation and disinformation, especially when it comes to health and wellbeing.

 

In the education space, Brad is passionate about using strategies to excite and inspire students, as well as teachers, to create the best possible opportunities for student success. Brad cares deeply about student experience and wellbeing - especially when dealing with complicated issues such as the use of human and animal tissues to teach in the biological sciences; online examinations in the discipline and how digital learning environments can enhance the understanding of the human body.

 

At the bench science level, Brad has extensive experience in developmental biology - particularly the interactions between the earliest stages of skeletal muscle and peripheral nerve interactions, as well as the embryonic development of the brain and spinal cord. However, he does not currently operate a laboratory space but is always keen to collaborate and support projects in this area.
