    Fellow, Association for Psychological Science, 2010. Awarded by the Association for Psychological Science to Association for Psychological Science Members "who have made sustained outstanding contributions to the science of psychology in the areas of research, teaching, service, and/or application". Citation: "The Association for Psychological Science recognizes Brian Haig as a Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science for sustained and outstanding distinguished contributions to psychological science". Applicants are nominated by a Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science, and the reports of two referees, one of whom must be a Fellow, are sought by the APS Fellows Committee. This committee makes a recommendation to the APS Board of Directors. Fellows are selected annually. The Association for Psychological Science is generally considered the leading learned society in promoting psychology as a science.

Nominations are considered by the Membership and Status Committee, which makes a recommendation to the Executive regarding election.
