Addressing inequities in cancer outcomes by making radiotherapy more accessible. Rural and remote populations have poorer outcomes than urban populations due to issues associated with the distance from diagnostic and therapeutic services. This disproportionately affects Maori in New Zealand but is also true for Oceania nations with very few treatment options available. Currently focusing on how to apply advances in terahertz acceleration of electrons to minimise the form factor of current medical electron linear accelerators. Additionally shielding, dosimetry, logistics, and radiobiology considerations are being addressed to bring about a novel mobile solution for patients that can be realised with partnering with existing service providers.
