I am a Lecturer in Active Tectonics and Geomorphology. My research focuses on understanding how tectonic deformation, surface processes and climate interact to drive mountain building and landscape evolution.

I specialise in trapped-charge thermochronometry, using luminescence (OSL and IRSL) and electron spin resonance (ESR) to investigate shallow, Quaternary-scale cooling and exhumation. I combine these approaches with geomorphology and numerical modelling to link fault activity and earthquake cycles with longer-term mountain building.

My research has focused on active orogenic systems including the Himalayas, and I am now developing this work in Aotearoa New Zealand, with a particular focus on the Southern Alps and Alpine Fault.
