Organised and delivered the “Scales (time and space) of Caldera Magmatism and Volcanism Workshop” at the Institute of Earth Science and Engineering (University of Auckland) in 2009. This included 20 delegates from New Zealand and overseas (including 2 invited attendees).

Member Volcanic Impact Study Group, a consortium of scientists and managers involved in volcanic mitigation, facilitated by the Auckland Engineering Lifelines Group (2006), and the International Volcanic Ash Fall Impacts Working Group (2009-present), which provides consistency internationally in methods of collection and reporting of volcanic ash fall.

Arrange and joint chair of IAVCEI session V12 (Tectonic Controls on Volcanism) held on July 4, 2011, at the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics General Assembly (Earth on the Edge: Science for a Sustainable Planet - June 28 - July 7, 2011) in Melbourne, Australia
