  • EVENT PARTICIPATION
Organised a panel at the annual convention of the Association for Slavic, East European, & Eurasian Studies (ASEEES) in Los Angeles (2010). The panel titled "Cold War in Post-Soviet and Contemporary Russian Poetry" brought together Prof. Kevin Platt, Chair of Comparative Literature at the University of Pennsylvania, Prof. Dmitry Golynko of the Russian Institute of Art History, and Dr Dennis Ioffe of the U of Amsterdam. A vastly expanded followup volume on the subject will be published in 2012 as a special issue of Russian Literature (Elsevier, Amsterdam). The volume has been accepted by the publisher and will be edited by Dr Ioffe and myself. Volume contributors will include Prof Stephanie Sandler (Harvard), Prof. Mark Lipovetsky (U of Colorado), et al. Together with the participants in the ASEEES panel, I am currently in the process of putting together a major grant application to the Research Foundation Flanders (Belgium) to fund a research project on the political dimension of contemporary Russian poetry.
