Hadi's research interests include:

• Green hydrogen and renewable integration: Modelling hydrogen production and use in the energy system, and integrating renewables (solar, wind) into power grids.
• Energy systems modeling and multi-carrier networks: Techno-economic and scenario-based analysis of multi-energy hubs (electricity, heat, hydrogen, carbon) to optimise Power-to-X system design.
• Energy security and markets: Studying factors/policies affecting electricity security and markets, including investment and cost trends for energy technologies.
• Decarbonisation of hard-to-abate sectors: Focusing on applications of low-carbon fuels (e.g. SAF) and/or synthetic hydrocarbons in aviation, shipping, steel, methanol, fertiliser and other industries.
• Power system dynamics: Ensuring grid stability in high-renewable scenarios (e.g. frequency control, microgrid inverters)
