RESEARCH INTERESTS

My research sits at the intersection of electrical infrastructure, society, technology, and decentralised energy system.  While my role as Director of the EPECentre involves me researching a wide range of energy related topics, my personal interests include:

 

Grid Integration of Renewable Energy: Physical and regulatory constraints of embedding generation into households and communities, as well as transit.  I have a particular interest in community energy and addressing energy inequity.

 

Decentralised Energy Systems: Resilient microgrids, distributed energy resources, energy storage, renewable energy, virtual power plants (VPPs), and peer-to-peer energy trading frameworks that balance grid hosting capacity with energy equity.  Of particular interest is the intersection of community and policy.
