    New Zealand Olympic Academy
    1 Jan 2000 - 1 Jan 2008
President of the NZ Olympic Academy (NZOA) 2000-2008. I was elected to this prestigious position in 2000 and served two full Olympiads. This role was to co-ordinate education programmes with Olympic Studies and more particularly to foster research amongst national and international scholars. Achievements have seen the establishment of an Olympic Studies Research Centre at UC and collaborations and developments of an Olympic Studies network of research scholars. During my presidency the NZOA was held in the highest regard by research scholars and other personnel from the Olympic movement worldwide.

Chair of the Research Seminar for the New Zealand Centre for Olympic Studies, (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012). I have chaired the annual academic seminars for the New Zealand Centre for Olympic Studies since 2007to the present time. These research based seminars involve chairing a panel of scholars from NZ Universities who provide robust scholarly critique and debate around the pedagogical and socio-cultural under-pinnings of Olympism. They are based on the preceding annual Porritt Memorial Lecture which is a high level research based lecture. Generally there are over 40 research scholars and emerging scholars who participate in this debate.
