    National Physical Education (PENZ)
    1 Jan 2011 - 1 Jan 2011
Invited to be a member of the National Physical Education Workshop Planning Group - Wellington, NZ (2011). A group of experts in primary physical education was devised and tasked to design the National Workshops that would be presented around the country. The group included teachers of tertiary physical education, PENZ committee members and those who had experienced physical education advisory roles in the past, (included was the current PENZ Senior Advisor, recently appointed). Research in New Zealand Physical Education completed by members of the planning group was used to support the design of the workshops.
  • EVENT PARTICIPATION
Presented completed Masters research at the Graham Nuthall International Seminar, University of Canterbury (2010). This seminar allowed for the sharing of research experiences and further dissemination of my research to a wider audience. It was attended by students and academics who are currently completing or about to undertake postgraduate research.
  • EVENT PARTICIPATION
Invited to present at Olympism Education Seminar, Olympic Studies, University of Canterbury (2010). I was invited by Ian Culpan, Head of School of Sciences and Physical Education and Olympic Studies to present a collaborative piece of research, Olympism Pedagogy in Action: A New Zealand Perspective. This invitation recognised the quality of our work and the place of this work in the Centre of Olympic Studies and New Zealand Physical Education. The presentation was based on the initial teaching resource that was then used as the basis of research presentations associated with Olympism in a New Zealand Context in Greece, China, Finland and Singapore.
  • EVENT PARTICIPATION
Invited to present at the PENZ Leadership Conference (2010) by Gordon Patterson (President of Physical Education New Zealand, PENZ). I was recognised as showing leadership in primary physical education in preservice teacher education and was asked to deliver a presentation associated with quality physical education.
  • EVENT PARTICIPATION
Invited to present National Primary School Physical Education Workshops in the Canterbury and South Canterbury Regions (2011). I was invited by Gordon Patterson (President of Physical Education New Zealand, PENZ) to be part of the design team for the workshops and to be responsible for the delivery of workshops in the Canterbury region. I was invited because of my experience researching and teaching at tertiary level in primary physical education.
  • EVENT PARTICIPATION
Invited to present at the U Learning Conference, Christchurch, NZ (2010). Dr Chris Astall and myself were invited by Dr Niki Davis and Niki Dabner to present our research at the research forum at the International U Learning Conference in Christchurch. Our research was recognised as a valuable contribution to the e-learning research environment and caught the attention of Associate Professor Steve Wheeler (University of Plymouth, UK) an internationally recognised researcher in e-learning.
  • EVENT PARTICIPATION
Invited by Professor Niki Davis (University of Canterbury and Editor of the International Journal, Society of Information Technology, CITE) to present findings from our collaborative research on the use of web 2.0 tools in pre-service education, at the University of Canterbury ICT Forum. This invitation was in recognition that our research made a valuable contribution to e-learning environment at the University of Canterbury and could provide support for lectures designing courses using web 2.0 tools.
