DoctorJane Maidment

Jane is Professor of social work and has been working in tertiary education both here and Australia since 1994. Her main areas of teaching, research and publication have focused on field education and practice skills teaching and learning; Rural social work; Ageing; Using craft as a vehicle for promoting social connectedness wellbeing. Jane actively seeks to support both students and social work practitioners to conduct practice research in the field. In recognition of her contribution to social work in Aotearoa New Zealand Jane was awarded a honorary life membership to the Aotearoa New Zealand Association of Social Work in 2024.
