Fellowship of NZCCP awarded for contributions to field of Clinical Psychology

Erskine Fellowship University of Canterbury (2010). I was awarded a competitive Erskine Fellowship, which provides a grant for academic staff to travel overseas and to meet with colleagues teaching in a similar area. I used this fellowship to develop my knowledge and expertise in the area of psychotherapy teaching. During the Erskine I was invited to talk about my research at the Pittsburgh Mind and Body Centre, Pittsburgh, USA.

Elected to the College of Science Promotions Committee at the University of Canterbury (2010). Membership of this Committte is via election from other continuting academic staff. The function of this committee is to rule on academic promotion application

Chair of staff selection committees at the UoC (2008-present). I have been chair of a number of academic and general staff selection committees at the UoC since my appointment in 2006.

Committee member: Canterbury Branch New Zealand College Clinical Psychologists. 2003-current. Education portfolio 2003-2004. University liaison 2005-current. NZCCP consists of a national governing body (Wellington) and local branches who contribute to the maintenance off professional standards etc... My tasks include attending to monthly meetings, organsising workshops, quarterly education sessions and responding to clinical psychologist professional matters in Canterbury http://www.nzccp.co.nz/

Member: International Association for Cognitive Psychotherapy (IACP) 2003-current

Council member: National Council New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists. Publications portfolio. 2005-current. I have been appointed to the governing body of the professional council of clinical psychologists in NZ. My tasks include attending national council meeting in Wellington where I contribute to responses to issues that effect clinical psychology in NZ. I also have specific responsibility for the national newsletter (Shrinkrap) and the national journal.

Full membership; New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists (NZCCP). 2000-current. The NZCCP have professional competencies that must be met to become a member.
