She contributes to a range of Teacher Education courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including subjects involving Te reo Māori, Professional Inquiry studies practice, and culturally responsive education.

In the postgraduate programme, Jen now leads EDEM685: Culturally Inclusive Pedagogies: Motivating Diverse Learners, after the retirement of her mentor: Professor Angus Hikairo Macfarlane. This is a flagship course of the Faculty of Education's postgraduate suite and can be used towards a Master of Education qualification. This campus based, wānanga style is regularly acknowledged for powerful impact for its Māori and non-Māori students.

She supervises students at a master’s level and is available to supervise Māori and non-Māori students in subjects of her interest.
