The edX Prize is an annual award that celebrates the contributions and innovations of educators in the edX community, and amplifies the powerful role that online learning plays in the transformation of education today.

This award is in recognition of outstanding innovation in teaching by a College of Science | Te Rāngai Pūtaiao academic staff member or teaching team. Innovation in teaching practices can be represented either by a one-off innovation or by the cumulative transformation of the content, structure or delivery methods in a course or programme. Innovation in teaching may include the incorporation of new technology, the employment or development of novel pedagogical approaches to teaching and learning, or any other inventive practice where the goal is to make a positive impact on student learning or the student experience.
