TEACHING & SUPERVISION SUMMARy

I routinely teach courses on phonetics, history of English, World Englishes, variation & theory, and have extensive experience of also teaching sociolinguistics.  

 

I welcome PhD applications in areas like: 

 - Language variation and change (both synchronic and diacronic)

 - sociophonetics (both production and perception)

 - language attitudes

 - new dialect formation

 - dialects of English & Scots

 - exemplar-based models of sociolinguistics
