Chair of the IEEE Joint Power Engineering Society (PES) / Power Electronics Society (PELS) Chapter (2006, 2009). I organised local Chapter seminars and coordinating speakers coming on the IEEE Distinguished Lecturer programme.

Invited member of International Advisory Committee/Technical Programme Committee for a number of international conferences including International Conference on Power System Transients (IPST 2007, France) and IEEE International Conference on Sustainable Energy Technologies (2008, Singapore).

Member of joint AS/NZS Standards Committee EL034 (Power Quality) (2002 - present). Member of NZS Standards Committee P61000 (2008 - present).

Chair of Technical Committee for the Australasian Universities Power Engineering Conference (AUPEC 2003) conference in 2003.
