    Finalist for the 2019 Science Communicators Association of New Zealand Excellence in Science Communication Award for our work with Maths Craft New Zealand. This award is celebrated biennially by the Science Communicators Association of New Zealand to recognise outstanding communication of science to a non-scientific audience.

    New Zealand Association of Scientists 2019 Cranwell Medal for Science Communication (opens in a new tab)⁠

    Awarded the 2019 Cranwell Medal for Science Communication for our work with Maths Craft New Zealand. The Cranwell Medal is awarded to a practising scientist for excellence in communicating science to the general public in any area of science or technology. In 2017 this medal was renamed from the Science Communicator Medal to honour the botanist Dr Lucy Cranwell, a remarkable communicator of science – in a time when this was essentially unheard of.

They network, share their works in progress, and find new partners for collaboration. Past events have seen attendees form companies, change the legislative agenda, kick-off scientific research, and launch new international careers."
