    Dear Ray We are thankful to you for agreeing to act as the External Moderator of our Health Informatics programme and courses. You were approached for your expertise in the field of Health Informatics. Your views are extremely valuable and will be considered carefully by the department. At the University of Auckland we have a Postgraduate Certificate and a Diploma in Health Sciences specialising in Health Informatics. A study plan for that is as attached. And here is a link to the programme information on our website- Postgrad Diploma in Health Informatics The role of the external moderator is to undertake a review of the content and grading of the assessed work for postgraduate taught courses. Current quality assurance practice, applied in the faculty, means that coursework is marked by an examiner (usually the Course Director), and assessed internally by an assessor. As the external moderator you would look at the appropriateness of the assessments and grading against the learning outcomes and course content, and the extent to which the course reflects recognised academic standards. You reports in the attached pro forma will be forwarded to the Academic Head. The courses that we would like you to look at are- • HLTHINFO 722 - Special Study in Health Informatics 1 (15 Points) (semester 1 of 2018) • HLTHINFO 723 - Health Knowledge Management (15 Points) (semester 1 of 2018) • HLTHINFO 728 - Principles of Health Informatics (15 Points) (semester 1 of 2018) • HLTHINFO 724 - Special Study in Health Informatics 2 (15 Points) (Semester 2 of 2017) • HLTHINFO 730 - Healthcare Decision Support Systems (15 Points) (Semester 2 of 2017) The course web outlines are linked to the course names. Since the Special Study courses are done individually with students on a one on one basis, there is no general outline. The Learning Management system should have sufficient information on the course. If you need more details on that, please do not hesitate to contact Karen Day.
