I was asked to be on the panel to determine the recipients of the Fulbright General and Nga Pae o te Maramatanga Graduate Awards for 2015-2016. The Panel met for two days (26-27 September 2014). These awards provide the opportunity for high achieving NZ students to undertake graduate study in the USA. Fulbright awards provide an opportunity for high-achieving post-graduate students to continue their research under the supervision of leading experts in the United States. Since recipients must return to New Zealand for a minimum period of two years after their time overseas, they will make an on-going contribution to the New Zealand research environment.

Fulbright New Zealand Travel Awards & Fulbright-Nga Pae o te Maramatanga Travel Awards: Scoring of applicants for the above contestable awards (paper-based)

Fulbright Visiting Scholar Award Awarded to assist with PhD study, based at Boston University School of Law, Boston, Massachusetts during the 2008/2009 academic year. Approximately eight highly prestigious and competitive awards of USD25,000 plus return travel to the USA are offered each year to graduate students who show academic excellence, leadership potential and the ability to be cultural ambassadors for New Zealand. Awards are granted for advanced academic study or independent research in the US. This award enabled me to spend focused time on writing up my PhD thesis and provided access to a range of resources not available in New Zealand.

New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants PhD Award. These awards are granted to promote and support excellence in academe and to support research. As a member of NZICA, this grant of $2,000 assisted in funding my research, and continued an on-going relationship with the Institute which also has benefits for my research in terms of access to facilities, information, and personnel.
