RESEARCH INTERESTS

My research combines plant physiology, molecular biology and computational approaches to address the fundamental questions of how plants sense, integrate, and remember environmental cues to regulate flowering time, stress resilience and secondarly metabolism.  A core focus of my current work involves how plants detect the summer and winter solstice, interpret specific sound frequencies, and adapt to extreme events like flooding. Methodologically, I combine gene-editing, advanced microscopy, next-generation sequencing and network modelling to identify conserved regulators and biomarkers that can be translated into breeding targets for developing climate-resilient crops.
