DoctorSebastiaan Bierema

Sebastiaan is a lecturer in the Political Science and International Relations department at UC. He teaches POLS206 (Introduction to Public Policy and Policy Analysis) and POLS301 (Contemporary Political Theory).

His research and teaching interests are in democratic theory, utopianism, populism, cities and the built environment, and conspiracy theories. He completed his PhD in political theory at the University of Galway—his thesis explored the parallels between populism and early twentieth-century utopianism, with a specific focus on urban spaces and ideology.
