BIO
My research is primarily concerned with astronomical instrumentation, specifically adaptive optics systems on ground-based telescopes. I am interested in the design, simulation, and build of imaging systems to overcome blurring effects caused by the Earth’s atmosphere to aid in the observation of astronomical objects, satellites, and space junk. My work includes observations at the University of Canterbury Mount John Observatory and a variety of image processing techniques, including atmospheric tomography, deconvolution from wavefront sensing, and boundary detection.
