BIO

I am a transdisciplinary researcher and full-time secondary school teacher whose work bridges research and practice. My research sits primarily at the intersection of educational psychology, environmental psychology, and science education.

My research interests include basic human values, self-determination, social norms, self–other discrepancies, environmental education, science education, conservation, and eco-anxiety. I am particularly interested in how psychological processes shape people's understanding of, engagement with, and responses to environmental and societal challenges.

Methodologically, I work primarily with quantitative and mixed-methods approaches.

Alongside my research, I bring extensive experience as a classroom practitioner, providing a perspective grounded in the realities of education and science communication.

I am a government-appointed member of New Zealand's National Animal Ethics Advisory Committee.

I hold leadership roles within Canterbury secondary science and agriculture education and have previously held leadership positions in psychology education at the national level.

I welcome opportunities for research collaboration in any field.
