Although I initially accepted the invitation to a conference on Diodorus at Glasgow (held in late August 2011), I had to withdraw since it later eventuated that my wife was due to give birth around that time. After the conference had taken place, the organisers contacted me to ask if I would submit my paper for publication after all; and I have acquiesced.
I was invited to participate in the conference "Alexander in the Antipodes" in Dunedin in 2007; the proceedings were published in 2009 (Edd. P. Wheatley and R. Hannah).
I was invited to an "invitation only" conference on occupational specialisation amongst the nobiles at Rome in the late Republic in Köln in 2008. The proceedings were published in 2011 (Edd. W.T. Blösel and H.-J. Hölkeskamp).
