BIO

I am a researcher, educator, and practitioner in Translation and Interpreting Studies, with a passion for making communication more accessible in diverse communities. I specialise in Community Translation and Interpreting and hold full membership in translation and affiliate membership in interpreting with the New Zealand Society of Translators and Interpreters, as well as NAATI Certified Provisional Interpreter status. My research focuses on improving how public services, especially in healthcare, communicate across languages and cultures. In 2021, I received the MBIE Science Whitinga Fellowship to advance this work. I also create hands-on learning opportunities for students through projects with healthcare agencies, NGOs, and community organisations.
