Invited to present a Falconer lecture at the Atmospheric Science Research Center (ASRC) of the State University of New York at Albany (April 2012). Recent invited speakers Harvard University, Pennsylvania State University, Colorado State University, NASA and US EPA.

2011: Invited conference speaker at Brazilian Workshop. The workshop is a major event in the calendar for the Brazilian meteorological research community and attracts 200-300 participants. The other invited speakers were Prof. Dennis Baldocchi (Berkeley, California, USA), Prof. Nelson Dias (Federal University of Parana, Brazil), Prof. Evgeni Fedorovitch (University of Oklahoma, USA), Prof. David Fitzjarrald (State University of New York at Albany, USA), and Prof. Jose Fuentes (Pennsylvania State University, USA). 2011: Invited to provide two presentations at the international colloquium 'Impact du changement climatique à l’échelle des terroirs viticoles' held in Valparaiso (Chile) and Mendoza (Argentina) in November 2011, as part of the international collaboration I was recently invited to join by colleagues in France. The two presentations were entitled: 'Modelling of climate at the terroir scale: a New Zealand case study' and 'Mesoscale modelling of frost risk in the Marlborough region of New Zealand' and are based on research conducted by myself and other members of my research group at the University of Canterbury.

Invited to be a member of the Earth Science and Astronomy panel of the Marsden Fund (of the Royal Society of New Zealand) for the second round assessments (2009). As with other items provided in my portfolio, this is clear evidence of the respect that my colleagues nationally and internationally have for my ability to provide intelligent and well-balanced assessment of scientific work at the highest level.
