Andy's research feeds directly into national hazard policy and planning. He is a key researcher on the Aotearoa New Zealand National Seismic Hazard Model and served on its 2023 expert elicitation panel. His work on subduction earthquakes, coastal deformation and multi-fault ruptures informs tsunami, ground-shaking and sea-level-rise assessments used by central and regional government.
