TEACHING & SUPERVISION SUMMARy
Andy contributes to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in geodynamics, tectonics and natural hazards at the University of Canterbury. This includes guest lectures and computer-based fault-modelling labs in GEOL342/484, and field demonstrating on the Kaikōura and Lake Heron field courses. At Victoria University of Wellington he coordinated GISC421, where he designed a new three-day GIS field trip, and lectured in GEOG315 (remote sensing) and GPHYS446 (advanced seismology). He has supervised or co-supervised eight PhD and MSc students at UC, mentors two postdoctoral fellows, and has contributed to school and marae-based science education on climate change, sea-level rise and earthquake deformation.
