DoctorGraeme Woodward

I am Research Lead of the Wireless Research Centre at the University of Canterbury, leading research in wireless signal processing, including next generation cellular technologies, resilient communications, sensing, localisation and antenna arrays.   I have over 25 years of industrial and academic R&D experience spanning signal processing, wireless communications and mission-critical ICT systems. Prior to joining the University of Canterbury, I held senior research positions with Bell Laboratories, Agere Systems, LSI Logic and Toshiba Research Europe, contributing to the development of advanced wireless technologies from 3G through to emerging next-generation systems. I have spent more than 15 years leading research programmes and multidisciplinary teams of up to 30 researchers and engineers, and am an inventor on 11 patents. My work focuses on translating advanced communications and sensing technologies into practical solutions for critical communications and environmental  monitoring.
