Joseph's research seeks to create impact by amplifying community voice and strengthening the relationships between learners, families, educators, and educational systems. His work has made particular contributions to Pacific education and Pacific research methodologies, including the application and development of Tīvaevae as a framework for collaborative inquiry, leadership, and educational improvement. Through research, publications, professional learning, and engagement with schools, government agencies, and community organisations, he has supported conversations and practices that promote belonging, cultural responsiveness, educational equity, and learner success. His research is characterised by a commitment to ensuring that the knowledge, aspirations, and experiences of Pacific communities are recognised as central to educational transformation.
