BIO

My current research activities are part of an MBIE funded project: "Redefining the future of forensic drug testing using NMR". This study will critically explore: the current NZ drug checking context and harm reduction strategies, policies and procedures; to identify what is currently being done and what is needed; to understand the barriers to drug checking and consider strategies to increase the use of drug checking services and encourage drug checking behaviour; to understand the role for NMR in the promotion and practice of drug-related harm reduction and the impact of drug checking services more widely; to understand how to reduce the social impact of illicit drug-related harm; to explore harm reduction approaches that prioritize positive outcomes and benefits for Māori communities
