BIO
Dr Milenko Petrovic is Jean Monnet Chair, and Senior Lecturer Above the Bar at the National Centre for Research on Europe (NCRE) and at the Department of Global, Cultural and Language Studies. He is the Deputy Director of NCRE and the President of Australasian Association for Euro-Asian Studies (AAEAS). His research and publications focus on problems of post-communist democratisation and socio-economic transition in East Central and South-Eastern Europe and the EU’s eastern enlargement. He is the author of The Democratic Transition of Post-Communist Europe (Palgrave Macmillan, 2013) and the co-editor of A Quarter Century of Post-Communism Assessed (Palgrave Macmillan, 2017) and EU enlargement to the Western Balkans: The geopolitical turn or another postponement? (SI, Journal of Contemporary European Studies, 29:2, 2021). He has authored or (co-)edited several other volumes and numerous journal articles and shorter contributions on comparative politics, post-communist transition, European integration and EU enlargement.
