I have been the retailing track chair at all Australia and New Zealand Marketing Academy (ANZMAC) conferences since 2013. I was also the invited track chair for the online marketing track for the 2016 Academy of Marketing Science World Marketing Conference. Will further update at the time of the PBRF to give further details about the quality of these conferences, who I was invited by, etc.

In 2010, I was elected by my peers onto the ANZMAC Executive Committee. ANZMAC is the main organisation for educators and practitioners interested in marketing theory and research, representing the interests of academics in the Australasian region. As a member of this committee, I have been involved with a number of major initiatives, including developing a response (as the main body for marketing academics in Australasia) to aspects of the ERA exercise administered by the Australian Research Council.

Member of the Organising Committee for the 2010 Australian and New Zealand Marketing Academy (ANZMAC) Conference, November 29 - December 1, 2010, Christchurch, New Zealand. In December 2008, I (along with David Fortin, who led the bid) was one of the two presenters who successfully pitched for this conference. The conference attracted more than 400 delegates from around the world, with a total of 341 competitive papers being presented at the conference.

Session Chair for the “Retail Marketing” track at the Academy of Marketing Conference, July 5 - 7, 2011, Liverpool, United Kingdom.
  • EVENT PARTICIPATION
I was a co-chair of the 2012 Asia-Pacific Association for Consumer Research (ACR) Conference that was hosted in Queenstown from 6-8 July, 2012. The North American ACR Conference is regarded as the top international conference in consumer research, and this was the first time that the Asia-Pacific Conference was held in New Zealand. I was invited to lead and co-chair the 2017 Academy of Marketing Science (AMS) World Marketing Congress Conference which will be hosted by the University of Canterbury at the end of June 2017. AMS is a leading academic body based in North America, and this is the first time their association has supported a conference being held in this country. Will update this at the time of the PBRF, but I am heading up the local arrangements for this conference and am one of the two programme chairs.
