    I was part of the organising committee for the 2014 Human Resource Institute of New Zealand (HRINZ) Research Forum held in Wellington on 20 November 2014. The organising committee consisted of myself, A/Prof Jane Bryson (Vic) and A/Prof Paul Toulson (Massey). In addition to planning the forum I also reviewed all of the papers submitted and chaired two sessions.

    The Human Resource Institute of New Zealand is one of the few HR bodies internationally to have a professional membership category specifically targeted at Academics. Professional membership with HRINZ indicates that Academics in the field of HRM have satisfied HRINZ that they have the necessary qualifications, knowledge, skills, experience to deliver excellence in a tertiary or workplace environment. Together with two other colleagues at the University of Canterbury, we were of the first academics in New Zealand to gain academic professional membership of the Institute.
