Description

Dynamic Mechanical Analyser (DMA) for measuring viscoelastic (damping) properties, including storage modulus, loss modulus, storage/loss compliance, tan δ (delta), complex modulus, complex/dynamic viscosity, creep compliance, relaxation modulus, glass transitions, and softening points. The instrument determines changes in sample properties resulting from changes in seven experimental variables: temperature, time, frequency, stress, force, displacement, and strain. The system includes a humidity generator and a Gas Cooling Accessory (GCA) that uses cold nitrogen gas generated from controlled heating of liquid nitrogen. Available modes of deformation (clamps): dual/single cantilever, dual surface film tension, compression, 3-point bending, and submersion clamp for 3-point bend. Maximum force: 18 N Minimum force: 0.001 N Force resolution: 0.0001 N Strain resolution: 1 nanometer Modulus range: 1 kPa to 3 TPa Modulus precision: ± 1% Tan δ (delta) range: 0.0001 to 10 Tan δ (delta) sensitivity: 0.0001 Tan δ (delta) resolution: 0.00001 Frequency range: 0.01 to 200 Hz Dynamic sample deformation range: ± 0.5 to 10,000 μm Temperature range: -145 to 600 °C Heating rate: 0.1 to 20 °C/min Cooling rate: 0.1 to 10 °C/min Isothermal stability: ± 0.1 °C
