Description

This double-furnace Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) directly measures the amount of energy absorbed or released by a sample upon heating, cooling or held at constant temperature. The heat flow to and from the sample is measured as a function of temperature and time. This technique is used to determine material properties such as melting points, crystallization temperatures, glass transition temperatures and phase transition temperatures. The system includes a Controlled Liquid Nitrogen Accessory (CLN2 - Part No: N5340031, Serial No: 534N1042523), the Pyris analysis software (V13.4), and a Universal Crimper Press (Part No: B0139005) for sample preparation. Temperature range: -180⁰C to 750⁰C Accuracy: ±0.05⁰C Precision: ±0.008⁰C Data points per second: 33 Controlled heating rates: 0.01 to 300⁰C/min Controlled cooling rates: 0.01 to 150⁰C/min Standard purge gas: Instrument Grade nitrogen (NOTE: for CLN2 operating temperatures below -130⁰C Instrument Grade helium must be used as the sample holder purge gas) Available pans/covers for sample preparation: Standard aluminium sample pans and covers (Part No: 02190041) Volatile aluminium sample pans and covers (Part No: B0169321) Stainless steel pans, covers and O-rings (Part No: 03190218) (NOTE: aluminium sample pans and covers must not be used above 600⁰C because of proximity to the melting point of aluminium)
