Description

Structural labs at UC Canterbury provide hands-on learning and research opportunities in earthquake engineering, materials testing, and building components. The laboratory is consists of 280m2 strong floor complimented by a 9m high concrete reaction wall with a capacity of 1MN @ 9m with threaded inserts arranged in a 400mm centred grid. The laboratory serviced by two 8T dual carriage gantry cranes with a total capacity of 32T. Equipment Includes: -Hydraulic actuators with capacity up to ±1000 kN, and strokes of ±1000 mm for Quasi-Static testing applications. -High-speed dual-acting actuators with capacity of 250 and 500kN and 1000mm stroke for dynamic testing applications with speeds of up to 1m/s. - Hydraulic accumulation for supplementing high speed actuators. -Hydraulic wedge grip set with capacity of 1MN
