Description

The Bio‑Rad QX200 Droplet Digital PCR (ddPCR) system delivers highly sensitive, absolute quantification of DNA or RNA by partitioning each sample into ~20,000 uniform nanoliter droplets before PCR, then counting positive vs negative droplets for precise copy-number measurements. Unlike traditional qPCR, it requires no standard curve — quantitation is achieved by statistical analysis of droplet fluorescence. The system supports both probe-based (e.g. hydrolysis probes) and dye-based (EvaGreen) chemistries, giving flexibility across assay types. The QX200 is ideal for applications needing precision and sensitivity: measuring rare mutations or low-abundance transcripts; copy number variation analysis in cancer or genomic studies; absolute quantification of sequencing libraries for NGS workflows; sensitive gene or microRNA expression assays; pathogen detection (e.g. viral load quantification, environmental or wastewater monitoring); and even GMO or environmental contaminant screening.
