Description

The Malvern MicroCal PEAQ-ITC is a highly sensitive isothermal titration calorimeter designed to quantify biomolecular interactions by directly measuring the heat exchanged during binding events. Using small sample volumes and requiring no labels, tags, or immobilization, it provides a straightforward way to obtain core thermodynamic parameters such as binding affinity, stoichiometry, enthalpy, and entropy from a single experiment. Its precise temperature control, low noise performance, and broad dynamic range make it suitable for examining interactions across a wide spectrum of strengths, from weak millimolar binders to tight picomolar complexes. The PEAQ-ITC is commonly applied to characterizing protein–ligand and protein–protein interactions, validating drug-target binding, assessing the effects of mutations on molecular stability, and probing mechanisms of enzyme function or receptor engagement. It is also widely used for studying nucleic acid interactions, lipid binding, and formulation stability.
