Description

The Eppendorf Mastercycler Thermal Cycler X50s is a high-performance PCR thermal cycler combining speed, precision, flexibility, and ease of use for teaching and research labs. It delivers fast thermal ramp rates (up to ~10 °C/s heating and ~5 °C/s cooling) with excellent temperature accuracy (±0.15 °C) and uniformity, supporting reproducible PCR results across 96-well plates or tube formats. The innovative 2D-Gradient feature lets users simultaneously optimize two key temperature parameters in a single run, greatly accelerating protocol development. The X50s can also network with multiple units (up to 9 directly and up to 50 via CycleManager software) for scalable, mid- to high-throughput workflows, making it suitable for multi-user environments. Typical university applications include routine PCR, fast and high-throughput amplification, primer and protocol optimization, cycle sequencing, and incubation steps, supporting research projects requiring reliable, efficient DNA amplification and troubleshooting.
