EquipmentLI-6800 – Portable Photosynthesis System

University of Canterbury

New Zealand

Description

The LiCor 6800 is a portable device that can 'measure' photosynthesis by measuring the uptake of carbon dioxide (CO2) and release of water vapor (H2O) with high precision infrared gas analysers (IRGAs). As our device is also equipped with a fluorometer, the LI-6800 can simultaneously measure gas exchange and chlorophyll fluorescence from the same sample. Therefore, we can get real-time information about both the light reactions and the carbon reactions of photosynthesis. Additional attachments: Lighted large leaf and needle chamber and an insect respiration chamber
