The Cass Experimental Stream Mesocosms (CESM) are UC’s alpine freshwater ecology research infrastructure, located at the Cass Field Station. CESM provides flexible, field-built or lab-built mesocosm systems designed to replicate alpine streams or ponds under controlled experimental setups. Specifications • Types: - Stream mesocosm channels (temporary, outdoor field-constructed) - Stream mesocosm (temporary, indoor lab- based) • Scale: Replicated tank arrays, adaptable from 30 – 1000 L capacity
