Description

UC's digital screen production expertise in end to end digital screen creation, including virtual production, LED wall workflows, real time rendering, and motion tracked environments. Capability spans pre visualisation, in camera VFX, digital cinematography, and post production integration for research, teaching, and industry collaboration. VIRTUAL PRODUCTION & REAL TIME TECHNOLOGIES Proficient in Unreal Engine–driven scene creation, real time lighting, and immersive worldbuilding. Skilled in designing and operating LED wall stages, camera tracking systems, and hybrid physical–digital sets for experimental, commercial, and pedagogical applications. SCREEN RESEARCH & INNOVATION Engages in practice led research exploring emerging screen technologies, production methodologies, and creative workflows. Contributes to sector innovation through applied research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and partnerships with film, gaming, and creative tech industries. POST PRODUCTION & DIGITAL WORKFLOWS Capability includes editing, colour workflows, asset management, and integration of real time and traditional post production pipelines. Supports research and teaching in screen editing, compositing, and digital storytelling. INDUSTRY & COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT Collaborates with screen sector partners on virtual production, digital storytelling, and technology enabled creative practice. Experience includes supporting commercial productions, student industry projects, and capability development across Aotearoa’s screen ecosystem.
