Control Room A at UC’s Digital Screens facility houses a professional grade Avid S4 16/4 console, providing a flexible, industry standard environment for audio recording, editing, and post production. The space is designed to support teaching, research, and creative practice, offering a streamlined workflow that mirrors contemporary studio environments used across commercial music, film, and broadcast sectors. Attached to the Control Room is a 6.5 × 5.5m recording studio, enabling high quality capture of dialogue, instruments, Foley, and other sound sources. The Avid S4 16/4 system delivers a powerful hybrid of tactile control and digital precision. With 16 motorised faders, modular channel strips, and integrated EUCON connectivity, the console enables seamless control of Pro Tools and other EUCON enabled DAWs. This allows users to move efficiently between tracking, mixing, and sound design tasks while maintaining full session visibility and hands on responsiveness.
