Description

The GE Typhoon FLA 9500 Biomolecular Imager is a high-sensitivity imaging system widely used for quantitative detection of nucleic acids and proteins. It combines multiple laser and filter options to support fluorescent, chemiluminescent, and radioisotopic detection, enabling researchers to visualise a broad range of labels with high dynamic range and low background. In an academic setting, the Typhoon FLA 9500 is applied to DNA and RNA gel documentation, fluorescence-based protein gels and blots, microarray scanning, and autoradiography, supporting experiments in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, and bioengineering. Its ability to detect multiple fluorophores in a single scan makes it particularly valuable for multiplexed assays, quantitative expression studies, and comparative analysis across samples.
