Description

Located in the Human Interface Technology Laboratory (HIT Lab NZ), the Virtuix omni-directional treadmill simulator for virtual reality (VR) games and applications is a specialist treadmill that when paired with a VR headset, allows a player to physically walk freely through a virtual environment in a natural manner. Players wear special low friction pads on their feet and are fastened securely into the balance ring. Sensors in the pads and ring monitor motion and direction and translate this into motion within the game.
