RESEARCH INTERESTS

Nicola's research focuses on accounting education and the development of informed and responsible judgment in learners and professionals. Her work examines how students learn, engage, make decisions, and develop the capabilities needed to navigate complexity, uncertainty, and professional practice in an increasingly AI-rich world.

Her research explores a range of factors that influence student success, including self-efficacy, motivation, engagement, strategic learning behaviours, workplace learning, and academic progression. More broadly, she is interested in how educators can create learning environments that foster confidence, capability, and sound professional judgment.
