Associate ProfessorNicola Beatson

Nicola teaches ACCT102, MPAC613, and ACCT623 at the University of Canterbury. She is an award-winning educator whose teaching focuses on developing confident, capable learners through active learning, meaningful assessment, and supportive classroom environments. Her approach is informed by her research into student success, self-efficacy, engagement, and professional judgment.

Her teaching excellence has been recognised through numerous awards, including the University of Otago's Overall Premier Lecturer Award (2018) and Excellence in Teaching Award (2019). Nicola has also held significant teaching leadership roles, including Director of the BCom Core at the University of Otago, where she oversaw the compulsory business curriculum and championed initiatives to enhance student learning and success.
