Description

The Thermo Scientific NanoDrop One Spectrophotometer is a microvolume UV-Vis instrument designed for rapid, high-accuracy quantification of nucleic acids, proteins, and other biomolecules. Using sample volumes as low as 1–2 µL, it enables researchers to assess sample concentration and purity without cuvettes or dilution, making it ideal for high-throughput molecular workflows. The instrument features a broad dynamic range, allowing reliable measurement of highly concentrated samples, and uses Auto-Measure and Auto-Blank functions to streamline operation. Its built-in contaminant identification (A260/A280, A260/A230 ratios, and Thermo’s Acclaro™ Sample Intelligence technology) helps users detect impurities such as phenol, guanidine, or protein carryover, improving data quality. The touchscreen interface and onboard software support method selection, data storage, and immediate spectral analysis without an external computer. Applications span genomics, proteomics, and general biochemistry, including DNA and RNA quantification for sequencing or PCR, protein assay workflows, and buffer or dye measurements.
